James O. (Jim) Brams' entire career has been in public relations services.

He began his career at the Detroit bureau of PR Newswire in 1969 after attending Eastern Michigan University. In 1984, he was named a vice president of PR Newswire in New York City.

In 1989, he left PR Newswire and purchased the Media Distribution Services franchise in Atlanta, specializing in press kits. After September 11, 2001, he chose to close the MDS store after 6,500 projects.

Brams then joined iCD Media in April 2002; moved to KEF Media Associates in January 2006 and left there to be senior vice president of A-1 Broadcast in August 2009. A Public Relations Society of America member for 30 years, he is a former Georgia Chapter board member and is currently a committee chairman. In 2003, he won the Chapter's prestigious Dyar Massey Award.
